Just when she admitted she wanted a cat, the universe delivered one in the most unexpected way possible.

Miss Pixie's story begins with a confession. A college student had been feeling lonely and mentioned to her boyfriend that she was thinking about adopting a cat. It was the first time she had said it out loud to anyone. The very next day, a tiny kitten was found inside a coworker's car engine after he arrived at work. Stories like this are a big reason Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit has such a devoted following.

The kitten, later named Miss Pixie, was only three weeks old and weighed just 0.75 pounds. She was far too young to be on her own and needed bottle feedings every two to three hours around the clock. Anyone who has cared for a kitten that young knows how the newborn phase goes. Sleep becomes a luxury, alarms become a way of life, and every day revolves around making sure the tiny furball is fed, warm, and growing.

The first photo was taken the day Miss Pixie came home. At that point, she mostly ate, slept, and demanded another bottle a few hours later. Her owner admits it was the most physically exhausted she had ever been.

Fast forward a few weeks and it's almost impossible to believe it's the same kitten.

Now nearly 12 weeks old, Miss Pixie is healthy, thriving, and overflowing with energy. The sleepy little baby who could fit in one hand has transformed into what her owner describes as a "little wild rocket." She zooms through life with the confidence of a cat who has never doubted she belongs exactly where she is.
